Meet Our Staff!

It has been a busy and event filled year for us here at Baaad Anna’s with Anna Hunter moving with her family to Winnipeg and I coming in to the mix. It has now been nine months since the change of ownership, and I hope the store continues to provide community, love of yarn and access to fibre arts to its neighbourhood.

It seems fitting at this renewal time of year to take a moment to (re)introduce the many faces you see at the store. As the last few months have been a blur of activity, please be sure to come by and introduce yourself to us as well!

Most of you know Hilary, our in-house teacher who has been with the store for over five years! In fact, she has taught many of you the fine art of knit and/or crochet and has helped shape the fibre arts in our community.

Next is Charlotte, our store manager who keeps our yarn running on time. In addition to keeping us well stocked and helping solve lost-stitch mysteries, this smarty-pants is currently working on a Masters at BCIT in a conservation science.

We have gained two new staff both named Sarah this Fall who share our love of all things wool and bright!

Sarah L. comes to us with an MBA, yarn talent and a sense of humour. Be sure to ask her about the children’s books she and her sister are working on!

Sarah P. is a sock knitter extraordinaire with a little human in charge of her non-knit life. Sarah has quite the artistic streak, and has been responsible for some of the amazing window art to grace the Baaad Anna’s store front as of late!

We are also lucky to have two seasonal staff with us that you may have had the chance to meet.

Nicola is a familiar face who we are thrilled to have join us whenever she is on the mainland. Nicola used to be the store’s manager but can now usually be found on a small Gulf Island, potentially soon to be raising sheep!

Alyona is a Master Crocheter who has recently joined the team in the busiest weeks of the year. She is also fibre-addicted, so this is a perfect place for her to spend her time when not sharking at a game of billards.

And that only leaves me, Paula. I too am a yarn addict who has found solace in the warmest and beauty of yarn. I am a mother of two girls under six, so enjoy the peace and orderliness found in matching the right yarn with the perfect project. There is nothing I enjoy more than helping others also find this nirvana!

So that is us! We love hearing more about you as well, and invite you to drop us a line at the Baaad Anna’s page on Ravelry, by email or of course, in person! Looking forward to another great year ahead!
