Jane Richmond’s West Coast Cardigan KAL

One of the most popular items at Baaad Anna’s this winter has been Briggs and Little Country Roving, a five ply pencil roving that is often used to knit up Cowichan-style sweaters.

So many beautiful B&L colours!

One of our favourite local talents, Jane Richmond released an amazing version of this style of garment last October with her West Coast Cardigan. Designed with the modern knitter in mind, this pattern  is thoroughly and thoughtfully written to help perfectly measure the cardigan that would best fit you.

In a choose-your-own-adventure style of pattern layout, Jane creates an easy to follow pattern perfect for any beginner-intermediate that wants to try their hand at sweater knitting.

After knitting with much thinner yarn, this sweater has been working up quickly for me; I got to the arm separation in a single snow-day of knitting and now a week later I have finished the the body of the piece. It is such a satisfying knit with a gorgeous end product as a reward!

If you are interested in knitting one of these, here’s a bit of added incentive!

Jane Richmond’s West Coast Cardigan KAL has been extended until March 31st and in celebration of launching into this a bit late, I wanted to offer anyone the incentive (or reward) to finish the cardigan in the next few weeks by offering a prize to anyone who knits the cardigan in Briggs and Little Country Roving bought (at least partially) at our store and finished by by March 31st. Knit along with me (this thing knits super fast!) and be entered to WIN an additional skein of B+L Country Roving to knit yourself a hat or mitts to match!

To be entered:

This includes anyone who has already finished a West Coast Cardigan in the months since Jane first released this gorgeous pattern! Bonne chance!
