BC Road Trippin’: Lytton!

Watch out Lytton, Baaad Anna’s is planning a visit on June 22nd as a stop on our first ever Baaad Ass Roadtrip! We’ll be taking the show on the road and our whistle stop in Lytton, BC includes a yarn tasting event partnered with Klowa Arts & Handicrafts.

Klowa Art & Handcrafts (est. 2016) is the Fraser Canyon’s artistic hub, with indigenous art and other locally handmade goods, a colourful selection of yarns (including Lytton’s own Garden Gate Yarn), knitting supplies, and more. It’s a refreshing place to stop in Lytton. You can find inspiration in the knitted finished objects, dream over some handdyed yarn, or in July enjoy a coffee in the soon to open Klowa Café courtyard!
Klowa began in a 100-sq-ft space known as Lytton Knittin’, where owner Meghan Fandrich introduced the Lytton area to fine yarns such as luscious Malabrigo or the well curated Vegan Yarn, and offered knitting & crochet workshops as well as patterns from some of the newest knitting designers. Lytton Knittin’ moved two doors down and Klowa began – and suddenly local artists began appearing with their beautiful handmade goods. Meghan (seen below with the one-year-old Klowa Baby) is inspired by the artistic community of the Canyon who make Klowa what it is: a vibrant artists’ centre.
Lytton in British Columbia, Canada, sits at the confluence of the Thompson River and Fraser River on the east side of the Fraser. The location has been inhabited by the Nlaka’pamux people for over 10,000 years, and is one of the earliest locations settled by non-natives in the Southern Interior of British Columbia, having been founded during the Fraser Canyon Gold Rush of 1858–59, when it was originally known as “The Forks”.
