2010 Knitting Classes
This is a beginner knitting class for anyone who has never picked up needles, or for someone who is looking for a beginner refresher. Participants will learn the basics including casting on, knitting, purling and casting off. The class project will be a cool pair of leg warmers. Minimum 5 participants and maximum 8.
Materials needed: One pair of 6.5mm needles and 2 ball of a chunky weight yarn. Materials can be purchased at Baaad Anna’s.
Starter Sweater Class – Intermediate
When: Saturdays, January 16th, 30th, February 13th, 27th
Time: 1 – 3pm
Cost: $75 – $100 (+ gst) sliding scale

This class is for those who want to move their knitting to the next level, no more hats, gloves or scarves, try a sweater! Participants will learn how to knit in the round, read a pattern, increases, decreases and how the construction of a sweater works. Participants should have a good understanding of the basics: knitting, purling and casting on.
Minimum 5 and maximum 8 participants.
Materials needed: 8 – 10 balls of a chunky weight yarn. 6.5mm 24inch circular needle. Supplies can be purchased at Baaad Anna’s. Please contact the store for your exact yarn requirements (ie. Sweater size)
Socks With Patti – Intermediate
When: Sunday, January 17th, 31st, February 14th
Time: 2 – 4pm
Cost: $55-$75 (+gst) sliding scale

Learn how to make a pair of socks for a holiday gift! The basics of sock knitting will be taught over the course of three evening classes. The basics include; mastering knitting on double pointed needles, turning a heel and grafting a toe. Participants must know how to cast on, knit and purl to take this class. Minimum 5 and maximum 8 participants.
Materials needed: One set of 2.25mm double pointed needles and one 100g ball of sock yarn. Supplies can be purchased at Baaad Anna’s.
First Time Lace – Intermediate
When: Thursday’s January 21st, 28th, February 4th, 25th
Time: 6:30 – 8pm
Cost: $60 – $80 (+ gst) sliding scale
The hardest thing about knitting lace is deciding to try knitting lace. In this four week, project-based course we will demystify the process of knitting lace. Students will learn the basic stitches and how to put them together, how to read patterns and charts, how to use stitch markers, fix common errors and block and finish their projects. Knowledge of basic knitting skills is recommended. Minimum 5 and maximum 8 participants.
Materials needed: size 5mm needles, 170 meters of either dk weight merino/silk blend or 170 meters lace weight yarn, stitch markers.
