Well, we had a very difficult time deciding who would win this contest……the entries were all fantastic!  Myself, Caitlin and Hilary were the panel of judges, and we finally agreed on not only the winner – but ALSO that all the entries deserved a little somethin-somethin!  So we are profiling all the entries and all of you can come to the store and retrieve your prize!  And the winner is, drum roll please…………………..

FILIPA MELO LOPES – with her lovely Autumn Flowers Throw. We loved the color, we loved the crochet and we loved her description:

“This small throw materializes what Fall is all about for me. Its colors remind me of the leaves turning hot-chocolate brown and into warm shades of red, of greens getting dry and of the myterious grey skies. The throw looks perfect over a bed or a sofa when the warm weather leaves and cozy evenings by the fireside arrive. The fact that it is made of leftovers from previous summer projects also means a lot to me, because Fall is about getting back home and weaving together all the bright beautiful memories from summertime. This throw is about calm, peacefulness and that sense of satisfaction with small things that I always associated with Fall.”

Filipa will receive a $20 gift certificate for Baaad Anna’s – congrats!  And here are the runners up!  Thank you everyone for your contribution!

Lian Beveridge – Vest for Ellis

“look! ellis wearing that adorable little vest i made! vests are excellent for fall cos you can keep warm, but not too warm, and also do layering.”

Lynn Souedin – Cowl and Hat

**Lynn submitted her project for photo’s and unfortunately I didn’t get my act together enough to take a photo before she had to gift it to her son’s girlfriend – but you have to trust me on this one that it was LOVELY**

Lynn submitted a great cowl and hat combo – making the case that cowl/hat combo’s are the best for fall because they provide warmth if needed, style for any occasion and can easily be tossed in a bag if it gets too warm.

Cynthia Scheffers – Adorabubble Baby Britches

“My favourite fall project is a cozy pair of Adorabubble Baby Britches for my little guy.  When made out of 100% wool, they make a nice warm cloth diaper cover for the cooler weather, and they look cute as regular pants made out of any kind of yarn.  Love all the customizable options, too.  I just cast on a new pair this week!”

John Ross – Skull Bag

“I think that my knitting bag should be considered as the best fall project because it holds all of my needles and yarn, is big enough so that when I come by the store when I need help, there is always room for more wool, and also because it has a scull on it…kinda scary being this close to halloween…and it can double as a candy bag if I wanted to go trick or treating! Yay”

*** Special mention goes to John because he only started knitting 6 months ago, and has blown us away with the way he has already mastered the art***

Michaela Gawlyta – Cobblestone Slouch (available on Ravelry for purchase) by Melissa Thomson

“I think it’s the best fall project because it looks cute, is very quick and easy to knit, features a unique touch with the added button, and knit up in a chunky yarn (I used Berroco Blackstone Tweed Chunky) it is very warm, cozy, and comfy.”
