So the Summerflies Shawl seems to have started some sort of ‘fever’ here at Baaad Anna’s and people are constantly coming in to get yarn to do their ‘summerflies’ – thanks to Caitlin who started the craze all I see now are the summerflies.
But I guess there is a reason why everyone is doing it (and why caitlin has made 7 of them) it’s a GREAT shawl, it’s simple, yet interesting, its a great starter project – and it looks fantastic in any weight of yarn. We have decided to do a class on this shawl – the designer has created an easy to follow tutorial, and this is a fantastic project to do for the summer, and to try out lace knitting!
The Summerflies Shawl has been a HUGE hit at Baaad Anna’s. It is a great beginner lace project and can be knit in a variety of yarns, lace, fingering weight or DK. It is a great spring/summer shawl and the perfect project for these warm spring days!
If you have never done lace, but always wanted to try this is the class for you! Or if you want a great shawl project, you will not be disappointed. Participants will also learn basic blocking techniques!
Materials Needed: Minimum 400m of lace, fingering or DK weight yarn. 4mm circular needles 24″ minimum.
