FREE YARN at KNIT CITY…
… with strings attached. Baaad Anna’s will have 50 balls of sock yarn available for free at our booth (#240) at KnitCity on October 5th and 6th. There will be 25 available each of the two days, however if you take a ball of free sock yarn we ask that you knit or crochet it into something that can be given away to someone in need your community.
This yarn comes from donation of yarn to our UPCYCLE YARN program that take donations of unwanted yarns and separates it into usable donations for various charity carft projects all over the Lower Mainland, knit groups, as well as non-profit and school programs. I encourage anyone who is in need of yarn for a project to reach out to us and we can let you know if we have yarn to redirect your way.
And to put our money where our mouth is, we have matched every two balls of sock yarn that was donated to us towards these 50 free balls with one new ball of sock yarn off our own store shelf!
Each ball of yarn comes with a string attached that talks about our Modular Housing Sock Donation Campaign in which we are collecting 52 pairs of hand-knit socks to donate to newly-housed residents of a local modular unit. This would be the third such donation, having already made a Welcome Package sock donation of 52 pairs of socks for the residents of the Kaslo Modular Housing unit and another holiday donation of 39 pairs to the nearby residents of the Franklin Modular Housing unit. The sock yarn you can pick up at our booth at Knit City 2019 can be used and given out to your community however you like, or can be added to the 52 pairs we are currently collecting for!
