UPDATED Local Meetups
Our recent post on local meetups created some buzz; and the buzz is real as there are a number of NEW MEETUPS that have popped up over the past few months! How exciting! I have updated our MEETUPS LISTING PAGE with a confirmed list of local meetups, listed by city. ALL of these are free-of-charge Knit/Crochet/Craft Together groups in the Lower Mainland that offer opportunities to meet new people and brush up on skills. Most are volunteer-run and tend to be non-instructional community building ventures (not run by a business/knit teacher), so be sure to give thanks to the amazing people give their time to organize these events!
Here’s two BRAND spanking NEW meetups I had the pleasure of attending:
On April 17th the Emily Carr University of Art and Design launched their brand new ECUAD Fibre Library (situated on the cutest little red wagon and housed in their library) with a fibre arts craft night that they plan to host on a regular basis. Keep up with their happenings by following @flatzfibrelibrary on Instagram.
And if you haven’t already heard of Hops and Knots, hold on your hat, because over the past year a curator of a north shore fibre library (@fibre.seed.cabinet) has launched not one (@knots.and.hops.shore), not two (@knots.and.hops.valley), but THREE new knit nights (@knotsandhops.eastvan) with the help of a team of amazing volunteers. This Monday was the debut of the East Van edition! Check out the amazing turnout… these events tend of completely book up so be sure to RSVP!
Feel free to reach out or just drop in to see which works best for you by working your way through all of these great events in our listing! If you want to share any other meet ups or craft connection events, please email us at baaadannas@gmail.com and we would be happy to post your info to open them up to our community.
Don’t see one in your hood?? Why not build one! Reach out to any of these organizers and they would be happy to share tips and tricks to building a successful knit group.
