Beginner Inkle Loom Weaving Workshop
DATES: Fall Dates TBD!!!
*There will be a small break during the evening, so you are welcome to bring a sandwich or snack.

Update: More advanced workshops coming soon. Stay tuned!
An Inkle loom is a portable small weaving loom perfect for making durable narrow straps, belts, bands, or ribbons. Think of key fobs, bag handles, dog leads and collars, and even shoelaces. You can also use them as ribbons or decorative trim in sewing.
In this 4-hour beginner workshop, you will be guided through all the steps and techniques needed to weave your own wrist strap for carrying your keys or even your phone. Inkle loom rental and all materials included.
Cheryl will introduce you to the Inkle loom, explain how to read a pattern draft and how to customize your yarn colours. Then you will learn the steps to warping your loom for plain weave and have it ready to start your weaving. She will also demonstrate how to end and finish your inkle band for this project.
After the workshop, a 1-week rental of the Inkle loom is included so that you can finish your very own custom wrist strap at home. Some machine or hand sewing will be required.
Materials (INCLUDED): Participants will receive a 1-week rental of an Ashford Inklette Loom and all the materials needed to make your own wrist strap with one hardware (not exactly as pictured).

INSTRUCTOR: Cheryl Kao
Cheryl began her weaving journey back in 2009 with a 4-shaft table loom. Soon after, an 8-shaft floor loom took over a corner of her living room. Now, a cute little blue Inklette loom has entered her life and she wants to share the fun. Join her in a series of Inkle loom weaving workshops, from beginner plain weave all the way to tablet, pickup, and beyond.
