Learn to Knit Your First Triangle Shawl
I’m genuinely over the moon to introduce a brand new class at the shop: Learn to Knit Your First Triangle Shawl.
On paper, it sounds simple enough. We’ll be working through the Grain Shawl by Tin Can Knits, learning things like provisional cast ons, yarn over increases, changing colours, darning in ends, and blocking. Lovely, practical, foundational skills.
But anyone who’s ever sat around the shop table for a class knows something else always happens too.
Students arrive with fresh skeins, new needles, maybe a little excitement… and usually a little nervousness. We pour tea, talk about yarn choices, share stories about projects that didn’t quite go to plan, and then slowly, we begin.

There’s always a moment where someone pauses, looks down at their work, and realizes they’ve made something that didn’t exist an hour earlier. Just yarn, and now fabric. You made that. And it never gets old watching that moment happen.
The Grain Shawl is the perfect beginner-friendly triangle shawl and a beautiful way to showcase your favourite yarns or colour combinations.
