What's on Your Needles?
How’s everybody’s winter knitting going? Now that the holiday knitting frenzy is out of the way, it’s always great to see what’s on people’s needles, as often at this time of year it is much more personal knitting. I’m going to try to make every second project this year something for myself.
I’ve spent the last two weeks really enjoying putting a dent into this Granville by Josee Paquin of UandIKnit, in a new yarn to the store: Rowan Yarn’s Hemp Tweed.
This yarn is really interesting. It has a somewhat rustic feel but still quite overall soft and swishy. Every once in a while I would have to pull out a wayward hemp ruffage, but this same hemp fibre creates a bit of a shine and strength to this tweed. And at $8.95/50g for 104y/95m it can make a pretty affordable sweater for this natural yarn blend. Knits up quickly as a worsted weight with 19 stitches = 4″ on 4.5mm needles.
