NEW YARN: Elderberry Yarns Nature Dyed Sock
We’re still reminiscing about our trip to the Salt Spring Fibre Fair last month. We brought home some special Nature Dyed Sock Yarn from the organisers of the festival, Elderberry Yarns, and having it around the shop is bringing back all sorts of happy memories. This 4ply fingering weight yarn is a superwash merino blend which makes it a great mixture of easy to care for, durable, and luxurious.
The mother-daughter duo behind Elderberry Yarns hand dyes each skein and names them after the natural ingredients used in the colourway. What’s really special about this yarn though is that with the exception of the Indigo and Cochineal, all of the dyes they use are derived from plants foraged in Patricia and Karen’s own backyard on Salt Spring island. It doesn’t get much more local than that! We’re carrying 10 of their colourways which range from soft greens, blues, and browns to bright yellows and purples; come into the shop to squish them for yourself or check them out on our online store.
