Summer Sessions

During these dog days of summer it is a nice to time explore and nurture your creativity and we have three great summer sessions on offer for you to keep those creative juices flowing.


BEGINNER KNITTING with Rebecca Glazier – ONLINE via ZOOM

DATES: Tuesdays August 9, 16, 23 and 30th from 6:00-7:00 pm PT.

This is a beginner knitting class for anyone who has never picked up needles, or for someone who is looking for a beginner refresher. Participants will learn the basics including casting on, knitting, purling and casting off. The class project will be a choice between simple cowl or arm warmers.

The class runs over four weeks in a single month.  *Each session is one hour long with an additional half hour extension added if we have four or more registrants.

Take your crochet skills to the next level and have a beautiful and reusable bag at the ready! Market totes are both the perfect summer project and summer accessory.

In this class you will learn all the techniques to make the lovely Sakura Market Bag by K.A.M.E. Crochet which include magic ring, chain stitch, slip stitch join, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, crochet through front post, foundational crochet cast-on, counting stitches and reading a charted and written pattern!

Skills required: Some previous experience in crochet is beneficial.

DATES: Wednesdays August 10, 17 and 24th from 6:00-8:00 pm PT.

Sprinkle Dyeing Workshop – In Person

THIS IS AN IN-PERSON WORKSHOP held outside at Baaad Anna’s and adhering to social distance protocols. For the health and safety of our staff and participants, we require masks to be worn at all times. 

Weather dependent. (We will notify of cancellation — with full refund — in the case of rain on Sunday morning by 9am).

In this hands on workshop you learn how to prepare extracts, use shifters, combine colours then hand paint your own yarn!

A wide selection of natural dye extracts and shifters will be provided along with a 100g skein of WildWestDye’s Singles fingering merino/ cashmere/ silk blend (75/15/10) prepared for natural dyeing

We will also discuss how to prepare your own yarn for dyeing with both scouring and mordanting.  A hand out will be provided for future use.

No experience needed!

COST: $115 (plus tax)

Minimum 3 and max 8 participants

INSTRUCTOR:

Rebecca Glazier has been knitting since she was 7 years old and has always had a love for textiles and colour. Teaching people how to knit expresses one of her greatest joys; sharing her creativity and passion with people. Originally from the UK, she has called Vancouver her home for the last 6 years.
