They say time flies when you’re having fun… and if May was any indication, we must be having a blast.

Between beautiful yarns, sweet gestures, and laugh-out-loud surprises, this past month was full of the kind of magic that doesn’t always make the front page but definitely deserves to be shared. So here’s a little roundup of some of our favourite behind-the-scenes moments from May:

Every once in a while, a note comes through that stops us in our tracks. This month, we received a letter so thoughtful, so genuinely kind, that it reminded us why we do what we do. Thank you—to the person who took the time to write and share their story with us. It meant more than you know.

Sarah, take a bow. Not only is she a superstar store manager, but she also won our hearts by crafting the cutest little creatures for her niece’s birthday goodie bags. Seeing them lined up like a tiny handmade parade was pure joy. The kids were delighted and honestly, so were the BA staff.

In the most delightful coincidence of the month: Jenny surprised me with a matcha latte… and I couldn’t help but notice it perfectly matched the Cascade 220 yarn I was winding. Sometimes life hands you a moment of aesthetic perfection, and we’re here for it.

Cascade Waves got a new spotlight this month thanks to Janice, who has a gift for transforming yarn into art before it’s even touched your needles. The new display showcases the colour transitions beautifully bold, vibrant, and ready to inspire your next project.

An important philosophical question arose in the BA WhatsApp recently: Are we diving into the button soup or heading on a pilgrimage to Dress Sew?

We had a surprise visitor, so smol, so adorable, and so unexpected. This sweet little guest made our day, and we’re still giggling about the moment we spotted them. “How you so smol?” indeed.

Our Bea took a field trip to see Tapestry by Circus West and came back absolutely buzzing with inspiration. We love seeing how fibre arts connect across disciplines and how deeply creativity can ripple through our community.
