Project of the Month: Rumble Raglan in Full Moon Fibres Solar Sock
The Indian summer has officially said its goodbyes. Never mind socks I’ve already pulled my boots back out. The heating may not be on just yet, but there’s no denying it: autumn has arrived. And with cooler mornings and earlier evenings, what could be better than pulling on a brand-new handknit sweater?

This season, we’re welcoming the Rumble Raglan by Lydia Morrow into the shop as our newest sample, and it’s nothing short of spectacular. A big thank-you to Jenny, whose needles worked pure magic pairing this bold pattern with the radiant colors of Full Moon Fibres Solar Sock.
There’s something undeniably joyful about stripes in the fall. They’re playful without being fussy, and they carry a crispness that feels just right for this in-between season.

The Rumble Raglan has a relaxed, boxy silhouette with raglan shaping that makes it easy to wear, whether layered under a jacket for a chilly morning commute or thrown on for a cozy evening at home. And those 2×2 stripes? They’re a knitter’s dream—just enough rhythm to keep things interesting, without being fiddly.
Autumn has a way of making us crave richness—in colors, in textures, in the weight of the yarn we hold in our hands. Full Moon Fibres, a Canadian indie dyer, delivers all of this in their Solar Sock base. With 384 meters per skein, this fingering-weight yarn is durable, versatile, and luminous in color.
Jenny chose:
-
Galactic Violet – a cosmic explosion of jewel tones, vibrant and full of movement
-
Royal – a deep, velvety purple that grounds and balances the brightness
This sample is a reminder of why we knit sweaters for fall. There’s joy in planning the stripes, watching each row grow, and seeing two skeins of yarn transform into something you’ll reach for again and again. The crisp stitch definition of Solar Sock makes those stripes pop beautifully, while the lightweight fabric means this sweater can carry you through the season and well into spring.
So if autumn has you itching to cast on a new project, come see the Rumble Raglan in person. Jenny’s version is sure to spark ideas for your own color combinations and we can’t wait to see what you dream up.
