Class is now back in session
All summer long, we’ve had customers popping into the shop asking the same thing: “When are your classes starting again?”
Some of you are ready to finally learn how to knit before the cooler weather arrives, some want to pick up a whole new fibre skill, and others are looking to take what they already know and level it up a little. We love the enthusiasm.
So, we’re happy to announce that some of our fall and winter classes are now scheduled! There’s a little something for everyone.
Beginner Knitting
Never picked up needles before? This is the place to start. Jackie will guide you through the fundamentals and get you comfortable with the basics of knitting.
September: Wednesdays, Sept 9, 16, 23 & 30 from 6–8pm
October: Wednesdays, Oct 7, 14, 21 & 28 from 6–8pm
November/December: Wednesdays, Nov 11, 18, 25 & Dec 2 from 6–8pm
Learn to Spin with a Drop Spindle
Curious about how fibre becomes yarn? Learn the basics of hand spinning using a drop spindle and start making your very own yarn.
September: Saturday, Sept 26 from 2-4pm
October: Saturday, Oct 24 from 2-4pm
November: Saturday, Nov 28 from 2-4pm

Introduction to Loom Weaving
Try your hand at weaving and learn the basics of working with a loom, yarn and fibre to create your own woven piece.
September: Saturdays, Sept 19 & 26 from 9:30am–12:30pm
October: Saturdays, Oct 17 & 24 from 9:30am–12:30pm
November: Saturdays, Nov 21 & 28 from 9:30am–12:30pm

Top Down Adult Sock Class
Ready to take your knitting skills a little further? Learn how to knit a classic top-down sock and add a new project to your knitting repertoire.
September: Tuesdays, Sept 8, 15 & 29 from 6-8pm

Beginner Crochet Workshop
This is a beginner class for someone who has never crocheted before or is looking for a refresher. In this workshop, you will learn and practise the basic stitches for crochet including: foundation chain, slip stitch, single crochet and double crochet. The additional in-class project will be a crochet flower face scrubby. Class support videos will also be included.
September: Sunday 20th from 10:00am-1:00pm
October: Sunday October 25th from 1:00-4:00pm

First Raglan Sweater Class
Ready to knit your first sweater?? The Flax Worsted by Tin Can Knits is a simple classic raglan sweater that comes with clear pattern tutorials and helpful app support. Over 5 classes spaced out over 2 months, you will be guided through each step of constructing a top down knitted sweater. With sizes ranging from 0-6 months to adult 6XL, the choice is yours.
Sundays October 18 & 25th, November 8 & 22nd and December 6th from 10:00am – 12:00pm.

Next Steps in Rigid Heddle Weaving
Looking for the next step in your Rigid Heddle weaving adventures? This class encourages exploration of how to use simple techniques (Brooks Bouquet, Danish Medallions, pick up) and simple tools to create more complex looking patterns in your weaving. Each participant will create a sample which can be used as a small table runner using cotton yarn.
January: Saturday, 22 & 30th 2027 from 9:30-12:30pm.

Intermediate Crochet Granny Square Workshop
Once you are familiar with the basic crochet stitches, Granny squares are a perfect project for learning your next-step crochet skills and they are also a wonderful foundation to endless projects such as: coasters, scarves, bags, hats, tank tops, sweaters, blankets, toys and more!
November: Sunday 1st from 9:30am-12:30pm

Beginner Hat – On the C Train
Want to build on your basic knitting skills? The On The C Train Hat by Espace Tricot is the perfect next step pattern! Knit with one strand of worsted weight wool and one strand of lace weight mohair your finished hat will keep you cozy & warm all winter long. Also, makes a wonderful Christmas gift too!

Sophie Scarf
Discover the fun of knitting up a quick (crowd favourite) Sophie Scarf by PetiteKnit using only 1 skein of yarn!
Sundays October 18th & November 1st from 1:00-3:00 pm
