We are officially in Spooky Season, people! October is beloved by fibre folks across the board: it’s time to settle in, get cozy, and get some rows in! There’s a lot going on over at your local yarn store, so we’ve compiled a lot of information into a handy little post.

Coming up this month:

Advent calendar launch: mid-October we will be launching our 2026 advent calendars. They sell out quick, so keep your eyes on our social media for the announcement!

SOCKtober is back! We’re doing everyone’s favourite sock-donating challenge again this year. It’s simple: donate socks, have your name put in a draw to win a prize basket. Read more about how to get involved and where the socks are going in this blog post.

XOXO Fibre is coming up this weekend (tomorrow!) Sunday, October 4th! There’s vendors, workshops, and community. Check out their website for more information.

New Yarns:

We have so many new yarns in this fall, new hand-dyers, restocks of our tried and true hand-dyers.

Wild Woollys is hand-dyer who is new to the store. We are so excited to be hosting their beautiful yarn. You can read an interview with them we’ve done with them and shop their yarns here! 

Other notable restocks include a restock of our New Wave Fibre in the Pearl Fingering base and Les Garçon in their British Sport base!

Classes:

Lots of our fall classes have sold out, but there are a few that still have room. Fall is the perfect time to learn a new skill or improve on what you already know how to do!

Beginner Embroidery was recently listed and still has room. Learn all the stitches you need to make this sweet and spooky Halloween-y embroidery.

There’s still some room in our beginner inkle loom workshop, and the subsequent “next steps” workshops as well.

Beginner Spinning and Intermediate Spinning both still have room, as well as our October Learn to Drop Spindle Workshop.
