Koigu is an OG independent Canadian dyer and has been family owned and operated for its entire 30 years history! All their yarn is still lovingly dyed, hanked, labeled and shipped by three generations of women from the Landra family and a handful of dedicated employees. We have been carrying Koigu minis for a few years now and have only fallen deeper in love with their vibrant color palettes and high quality natural fibers. Formerly sheep farmers as well, they know their fibers and treat every hank as a work of art!

We are so excited to now be carrying their Paint Cans kits which are filled to the brim with 5 x 25g mini skeins. These kits take the guess work out of picking out minis as they are the perfectly sized and color coordinated for any of the Koigu sock collection.

We just received all the sample socks and were blown away by the beautiful and unique design of each sock, so come see the collection in store for the next week before the samples continue their travels across Canada. With ten different designs to choose from there is quite a variety of styles and fits. As the Grocery Girls Knit podcast said in their feature on the Paint Can kits: “Every pattern is its own little adventure” and we couldn’t agree more! This collection features options for ankle socks, mid calf length, and slippers as well as a ton of fun work up techniques. Some of the techniques you can try in this series include mosaic knitting, double-stranding, and beginning with the heel flap first.     

All of these patterns can be purchased individually on Ravelry. Or if you can’t choose just one, Koigu also sells the patternbook or an ebook with all 10 as well. Did you know that you can purchase most paid Ravelry patterns in store and we will both make sure they are added to your Ravelry account, AND be able to print out the pattern for you in house?!
