NEW YARN: Hand Painted Organic Merino Eco Wash
A new yarn has followed us home from Saltspring from one of our favourite British Columbian fibre artists, Sarah Elizabeth Fibre Works, and it is stunning.
Eco wash is a natural enzyme process of creating washable wools without the harsh chemical process that most superwash yarns require.
And this 2-ply fingering-weight yarn is not only eco-superwash, it is also 100% organic merino.
We first met Sarah on day one of our premier beautiful British Columbia baaadass roadtrip in Castlegar when she was the chair of the Selkirk Weavers and Spinners Guild. At that time we came home with a trunkful of her gorgeous hand-carded spinning batts. We have crossed paths with her a number of times since and she has always amazed us with her fibery talents.
She has also produced a line of this eco wash hand painted solely in natural Indigo dyes; what she calls the yarn that changed the world.
