Project of the Month: Sugar Pop

We are loving the minis at the moment, with a variety of small 14g-28g mini set dappled throughout our store from dyers such as Wollmeise, Hedgehog, and of course a local fav, Sweet Georgia.

Sometimes it’s hard to picture what to do with these intriguing little sets; we tend to answer this by pointing to projects with either colourwork or gradient knits. Today’s project-of-the-month showcases a bit of both of these with this little beauty…

The Sugar Pop was designed for Sweet Georgia Yarns by Lisa K. Ross. Using two skeins of a fingering weight solid in a neutral colour, (seen here knit in Tough Love Sock in the Birch colourway) and one Party of Five mini set (seen here in the Jellybean Spring collection) this giant shawl pops with the joys of summer!

Check out these two combos of Sweet Georgia neutrals and mini sets in the popular Tough Love Sock base that we put together to celebrate the love of summer! Here’s what a day at the fair could look like when you pair a Birch neutral main colour with a Party of Five mini set called Salt Taffy…

Or for more of an evening-out colourway by pairing two skeins of Silver with a set of the Fairytale minis…
