Project of the Month: No.2 Pencil and Lined Paper Socks
School’s almost out! There is no better way to celebrate all the hard work both students and teachers have accomplished over the year than with a gorgeous and fun pair of socks. Toronto based dyer, Yarn Enabler, has perfectly replicated the joys of school with her No.2 Pencil colourway, and it has subsequently become a best-seller. Her stunning handy work specializes in self-patterning and self-striping yarn, allowing your projects to stay simple as the yarn does all the work.
The Stationary Socks feature two half skeins to replicate a Pencil and Paper on different socks:
- One half skein of yellow (40g) with one black/brown striping mini skein (5g) for the toe and one pink/gray mini skein (10g) for the cuff of your Pencil sock.
- Plus, one half skein for your Paper sock (55g), featuring thick stripes of white and skinny stripes of blue.
For those that cannot bear to think about mismatching socks these sets also come as matching set of two in already divided skeinettes!
This is the ideal set for the eccentric teacher in your life, or anyone who can appreciate the art of mismatch. But really, who doesn’t love a mismatched yet perfectly paired set of socks?! You can find Yarn Enabler’s pattern for these socks here on Ravelry or choose your own go-to easy peasy sock pattern…the simpler the better, as the yarn captures all the attention already!
Hand dyed and oozing creativity, we are happy to share this as our late June Yarn and Project of the Month!
