Baaad Anna’s Virtual Classroom Community

Back in March when things began to shut down we were right in the middle of two in-person classes, Socks for Beginners and Beginner Learn to Knit.  Our incredible knitting teachers, Holli Yeoh and Rebecca Glazier rose to the challenge and along with their adventurous beginner students, took the leap and we moved the classes over to Online via  Zoom platform and haven’t looked back!

  .
Since then we have delivered online classes and workshops from brand new beginner knitting and crochet, to first sweaters, hats, bags, socks, felted gnomes and specialized techniques. Both of our online teachers are professional fibre artists. Holli @holliyeoh has been designing and publishing for over a decade and we are so honoured to have her share her technical expertise and patient, welcoming demeanour with our community by offering a wealth of classes and workshops for the beginner to well-advanced knitter. Rebecca @wildwestdye is a local indie dyer who has been community building by hosting free knit-groups (the Knit1Tea1@rebeccaknit1tea1 now online via zoom), volunteering with next weekend inaugural online fibre fest Fibre Love Affair, and teaching project-specific step-by-step classes and intro crochet! And we also welcome a new addition to our online offerings with our online Intro to Needle Felting workshop featuring Mel of Lovesfelt!

Holli Yeoh, Rebecca Glazier and Mel Broome bring to our classes their expertise, knowledge and teaching experience along with the joy of being part of your fiber arts journey.  The glowing online reviews and emails we have received highlight both the amazing level of instruction along with a sense of the Virtual Community and friendships these online classes have fostered. An element of our virtual community is sharing through Instagram and we would love to see your projects from the classes and beyond, both in progress and finished, so don’t forget to tag us @baaadannas@holliyeoh@rebeccaknit1tea1  and @lovesfelt so we can see your work!

Holli feels strongly about fine craftsmanship, believing that while there’s more than one right way to do things, it’s important to do it right! To this end, she teaches skills that enable knitters to feel justified pride in their finished objects, while accommodating different knitting styles and preferences. Students leave her workshops with an arsenal of valuable techniques, deep understanding of the choices to be made in knitting, and new confidence.
