Not Quite Sweater Weather
There may be official start dates for the seasons, but Mother Nature doesn’t always RSVP. One moment it’s bare ankles and iced coffee, the next you’re back in your thickest socks, wondering if your houseplants are as confused as you are. It’s a time of year when the weather seems to be playing dress-up, but hasn’t decided on a character yet.
This in-betweeny time makes now exactly the right time to talk transitional knits – those glorious in-the-middle sweaters that aren’t quite jumpers, but aren’t exactly T-shirts either. Think lightweight, breathable pieces that work hard: warm enough to fight off a breeze, cool enough to throw on indoors without melting.
And here’s where we landed…
Anker’s Summer Shirt by PetiteKnit
We’re starting off strong with a fan favourite. With its ribbed yoke and clean lines, this tee is ideal for everything from a chilly beach walk to a coffee date. Knit top-down in the round, it’s also try-it-on-as-you-go friendly, meaning your fit can be just right.
We’re so into this one, we’ve built a whole class around it!
Class Dates & Details
Thursdays: May 29, June 12 & 26, July 10 & 24
6:00–8:00 pm
Yarn Pairing Picks:
To match the seasonally confused forecast, look for blends that bring both breathability and a bit of weight:
-
BC Garn Allino – a cotton/linen blend that gets softer with every wash
-
Estelle Eco Cotton DK – soft, silky & 100% Organic Cotton
-
Wollmeise DK – vibrant, bouncy, and crisp, ideal for structure and drape
As always, we’ve got the tools, the yarn, and the encouragement. If you’re stuck in that place where it’s too cold for tank tops and too warm for wool pullovers, join the club. And then knit your way out of it.
