So our Soctober Challenge is underway, read all about it HERE! So far we have collected over 55 pairs of socks… our first goalpost will be 100 pairs where I will add another skein from my ‘reserve’ personal collection into the prize bundle!

There are now four stores across Canada involved: Stash Lounge in Calgary AB, Little Red Mitten near London ON and Yarns Untangled in Toronto ON and us! Last year Little Red Mitten collected 846, so should we make that will be our next goalpost??? Ten-packs of store bought socks are available at many convenient retailers, so this isn’t just a pipe dream… AND this would bring the prize bundle to TEN SKEINS of indie yarn which could be awesome as well!!

These will be distributed to two non-profits that work directly in Vancouver’s DTES (downtown eastside) that can get these onto the feet of people in the greatest need. We will distributed these equally amongst the PHS Community Service Society (previously Portland Hotel Housing Society) focuses on housing, healthcare and harm reduction; and distro_disco which is a mobile free store serving those in need on the unceded Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh lands.
