Neighbourhood Fibre Libraries
We are thrilled to be able to announce the launch of 3 more new neighbourhood Free Little Fibre Library boxes having been placed and filled with yarny goodies in the Hasting/Sunrise, Renfrew/22nd and Cedar Cottage areas of Vancouver!
Check these out…
These join the two that were already previously launched in the Olympic Village and Lynn Valley (North Van) neighbourhoods, to make a grand total of FIVE to date! Click here for a map with locations of all of the local Fibre Libraries (and you can find out the address of the nearest if you click on any location within).
Stop by and give a little, take a little of anything you see fit; we are so happy to hear that the underloved yarny contents have been finding new homes quickly as every box that has been put out fibre arts supplies has thinned out the within days! We have done some top-ups already on almost all of these boxes in addition to the large Launch Kit we have passed along to each Library Host from our Upcycling Program. If you have underloved fibre arts supplies, feel free to drop a donation off at Baaad Anna’s in any of our regular workday hours and we will redistribute amongst the boxes, or drop off (in ziplock bags please) directly into your local Fibre Library!
And if you’re interested in getting involved, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org if:
- You are willing to build a library (with new or from upcycled furniture!)
- You are wanting to host a library (on your own property)
- You are interested in keeping these boxes filled!
And we’ll try to hook you up! We would love to host a ‘make-a-little-library-DRIVE’ with a goal of having 5 more libraries built by the end of the summer, so if you would like a summer woodworking project please consider building one of these!
