November is upon us! Let’s take a look at what is going on this month at Baaad Anna’s.

This week we’ll be announcing the winner of Socktober in store! Thank you all so much for your generosity in helping us donate warm winter socks to our neighbours experiencing homelessness in the downtown east side.

November also means it is almost time for our annual Black Friday sale. While what the actual sale will be remains a secret until just before Black Friday, keep your eyes and ears open for the Baaad Anna’s Black Friday surprise!

Yarn-related news:

We have just gotten a small restock of Wild Woollys (including a new colour!) and are expecting more later this month. We’re also restocking Ancient Arts and Copperspoon, just in time for your new year knits. We’ve really been focusing on our local dyers this year, and hope you’ve been enjoying all the local yarn-y goodness as much as we have.

Needles: There’s a new needle (and cable!) in town! We’re now carrying KnitPro Stelo. They’re a stainless steel needle, similar to other metal needles you may have tried before, but now with a memory-free cable. Memory-free means they don’t hold the coil shape they come in, like many other cables.

We also have our 2026 Flote Christmas sock yarn in stock. This is a christmas-y tradition for many! We have the fingering weight, the DK weight and even the sparkle option.

Classes

We still have room in a few of our November classes, including Intro to Inkle Weaving starting this Saturday, November 7th.

Our Knit and Crochet Clinics also have room this month. These are a really helpful offering from our knitting and crochet instructor, Jackie. You bring your project and she will help you with it! Whether it’s understanding instructions or fixing a dropped stitch, this class is for people who want to choose their own adventure.

Jackie is also teaching her On the C Train Hat class this month and there is room in the Monday and Sunday classes.
