Knit City sneak peek – Life in the long grass
I have something truly special in store for you for Knit City 2023– the brand new Life in the Long Grass Moon Sock Yarn!!
I am thrilled to welcome LITLG to the shop and have our first exclusive offering at Knit City. They are an Irish artisan hand-dyed yarn and art studio in the Irish countryside.
“We worked as a graphic designer (Caroline) and architect (Jonny) in London and Spain before moving back to Ireland and living in the countryside – from there it was a natural transition to take our love of colour, art and design and apply it to our love of yarn. I am a keen knitter and was taught to knit and crochet by my Mum and our crafty neighbour Mrs Ryan. I love working with natural fibres and incorporate them in our home and what we wear as much as possible.”
Their studio is a now restored 100 year old farmhouse in a field so they could live by the values that are important to them such as ethical yarns, local employment, slow living, care, and quality.
This premium-quality yarn is a dream come true for all knitting enthusiasts. Made from a luxurious blend of 80% superwash merino wool and 20% silk, it’s the ultimate choice for your next project. Whether you’re into garments, shawls, scarves, or anything in between, this 4 ply/fingering yarn has got you covered.
What sets it apart? The blend of fibers creates a soft, bouncy luxury yarn with a high twist and texture. It takes dye like a champ, resulting in exquisitely elegant colors. Plus, it drapes beautifully and has a soft sheen that adds that extra touch of sophistication to your creations.
- Each skein of Moon Sock contains 100g of yarn, with a generous length of approximately 365 meters.
- Achieve perfection with a knit tension of 28 stitches per 10 cm.
- Recommended needle size: 3.0-4.0 mm.
