Out the box

There’s something undeniably satisfying about a kit. It’s more than just yarn and a pattern, it’s a neatly packaged promise. A kit takes the guesswork out of crafting, giving you everything you need in one tidy bundle. No endless scrolling for patterns, no second-guessing color choices, no wondering if you have the right weight of yarn — just a box of “Here you go, start making!” magic.

Let’s kick off the summer with some new fibre and craft kitss! We are excited to bring on some gorgeous new embroidery and macrame kits . Read on for a summary of everything you can find in store or online for a portable grab-and-go camping, staycation, vacationing, keeping-kids-engaged activity.

New Kits:

If you’re looking for a new project to cozy up with, Nest Embirdery has just released a few new kits that I think you’ll love. They’re beautiful, meaningful, and like everything Carley creates stitched with purpose.

One of my favourites is the Baby Beluga, and it might be one of the prettiest things I’ve ever seen in a hoop. It’s beginner-friendly but still really satisfying to stitch. The kits are made with eco-friendly materials, and everything is packaged with care in Edmonton.

If you love small, satisfying makes and beautifully packaged kits, you need to check out the Corinne Lapierre Mini Felt Sewing Kits. These little boxes are packed with charm and everything you need to sew your own adorable creature (except scissors but let’s be honest, we all have a favourite pair anyway). The materials feel lovely to work with, and the attention to detail is exactly what you’d expect from a UK-based maker with a real eye for design.

These kits are marked intermediate level, so they’re great if you’ve done some hand-sewing before and want a slightly more detailed project  also makes it an easy little present for a crafty friend, or a portable project to pop into your bag for creative moments on the go.

Honestly, the hardest part? Picking just one — because they’re all ridiculously cute.

If you’ve been wanting to dip your toes into the world of amigurumi — or you’re ready to level up from the basics  the Circulo Amigurumi Kit: Nappy Time is such a sweet and satisfying next step.

Each kit includes everything you need to make your own adorable baby animal, complete with tiny details that make it irresistibly cute. It’s labeled as Easy, so it’s great for beginners who are already comfortable with the basics and want to try something just a little more involved. What I love most about this kit is that it’s self-contained and approachable, but the end result looks so impressive. It’s a perfect weekend project, a thoughtful handmade gift, or just a really cute addition to your collection.

Embroidery

Using mainly satin stitch, these kits are beginner friendly and include everything you need to complete a work of art. We have been in love with these kits so much we featured them in our May Project of the Month. You can read more about these DIY kits here. Our biggest advice for these landscape kits is patience!
  • Hook, Line & Tinker Embroidery Kits are second in word play at our store (the first objectively being the Gnome Pun kits!). The kits come in three levels- from beginner friendly to ambitious beginner. These Canadian-designed kits include everything you need to complete a unique and modern home decoration. We love these embroidery designs because many feature fibre arts imagery. How cute is that little crab knitting in ‘Oh Snap’!?
