New Skills For Spring 

We have some great classes starting this week to get you on the way of starting on a new skill.


This class is great if you want to learn to crochet, polish your skills or just make an awesome Hat!

Pick from 1 of 3 Sarah Zimmerman designs: Shark, Frog, or Owl. Hat sizes are newborn – adult.

Techniques learned in this class are: Magic ring, half double crochet, single crochet, chain, changing colour and attaching pieces.

Minimum 3 and maximum 6 participants.

Materials Needed: One crochet hook (5mm or 5.5mm) and worsted weight yarn.

  • Frog: 100g green, small amounts of white, black and pink for details
  • Shark: 100g grey, small amounts of white, black and red for details
  • Owl: 50g each of two different colours of yarn (for base hat), small amounts of white, black and yellow/orange for details

DATES: Sundays March 12 & 19 2:00-5:00pm

COST: $60 (+tax) plus materials


Learn to Crochet class conpletes an entire hat over two weeks of classes.




You have been knitting for a while and feel like you’ve found your footing.  Do you want to put a sock on it – knit with your own hands? Then this is the class for you!

In three weeks, you will have a knit a boot sock (DK-weight yarn) or an around-home sock (Worsted-weight yarn). You can also knit a tiny sock if you don’t have time for homework.

Techniques learned:

  • Jenny’s Stretchy slipknot Cast-on
  • circular knitting with double-pointed needles (DPNs)
  • avoiding ladders and loose stitches
  • picking up stitches for heel
  • Kitchener stitch

Materials Needed: One set of 3.5mm-4mm DPNs and 100gm of DK or Worsted weight yarn and tapestry needle. Materials can be purchased at Baaad Anna’s Yarn Store before class.

 DATES:  March 13, 20, 27th 6:00-8:00pm

COST: $70 – $90 (+tax) sliding scale

OK, you might not quite knit these in our Learn to Knit Socks class, but it is the first step to getting there!



This is a beginner knitting class for anyone who has never picked up needles, or for someone who is looking for a beginner refresher. Participants will learn the basics including casting on, knitting, purling and casting off. The class project will be a choice between simple  hat, scarf, or arm warmers.

Minimum 5 participants and maximum 8.

The class runs for 3 or 4-weeks (dependent on month – 6 hours altogether) and includes a Baaad Anna’s beginner handout.

Materials needed: One pair of 6mm needles and 100g of a chunky weight yarn. Materials can be purchased at Baaad Anna’s Yarn Store.

MARCH DATES: Tuesdays Mar 7, 14, 21, 28th from 6-7:30pm




In this project based class, you will learn how to knit—if you don’t already know—and/or learn new techniques while working on cool and simple projects like scarves, cowls, fingerless gloves or toys. Each kid knits what they want based on interest and skill level while being guided in a fun and engaging group of knitters and friends. All levels welcome.

An interactive welcome booklet will be provided for each student at the beginning of the first class. Patterns/project ideas will be supplied for students based on their skill level & interest.

Min 3 and max 8 participants for students from Kindergarten—age 5—through Grade 7.

Materials needed: One pair of straight knitting needles—5 mm (US 8) to 8 mm (US 11)—and yarn—worsted to chunky weight. Materials can be purchased at Baaad Anna’s Yarn Store. Amanda will be available to help 30 minutes prior to the first class.

Scissors & tapestry needles will be provided for class time use.

DATES: Tuesday April 4, 11, 18 & 25th 4:30-5:30pm
