NEW Embroidery Stitch Kits
Clear and sunny skies in the day are the perfect combination for crisp, starry nights. And we have just the craft for the occasion! From Tangled Up in Hue, an artist collective from Wisconsin, USA, we are carrying three celestial-themed embroidery stitch kits.
About the Kits
These stellar embroidery kits can be enjoyed at any skill level. Whether you are looking for a stepping stone into embroidered landscapes or are simply seeking a craft for a quiet evening, these kits do not disappoint!
On preprinted fabric, these kits feature 3 stitches. Read on for our experience stitching Moon Over Midwest!
Backstitch
The creative aspect of how Moon Over Midwest uses backstitch is by recommending anywhere from 1 to 3 strands of embroidery floss for each backstitch section.
Let your creativity flow by creating delicate silver streaks in the sky.
Satin stitch
Satin stitch is a beautiful method to fill in space and add full color to your embroidery piece. To ensure clean and even stitches, here are some tips to follow:
- Use shorter satin stitches as opposed to longer ones. The longer your satin stitches are, the more likely they could bubble or catch on something.
- If ending a satin stitch in the middle of a section, instead of the outline, tuck the end under a previous stitch.
- Try to stitch either directly on the outline or just outside of it.
French Knots
The French knots make a perfect finishing touch on this kit– a small speckle of stars!
Our biggest recommendation for French knots is to make sure the knot doesn’t move around too much when pulling the embroidery floss through the center!
