Tables have always held a place in history. King Arthur’s was round, the Apostles’ was long and let’s not forget Friends famously a coffee table. Tables shape the spaces they’re in and reveal something about what happens around them.

Our table is more than a piece of furniture; it’s a place where thousands of color combinations have come to life, where yarns have been matched, projects conceived, and creativity sparked.But beyond being a hub for crafting, it’s also been a workhorse—a place for counting and labeling thousands of skeins of yarn, ensuring every colorway, fiber, and texture finds its way into the hands of creators. The table has borne the weight of inventory days, classes, knit nights, yarn tastings, customer projects and even the occasional coffee spill amidst all the busy-ness.

This table has become the creative anchor of Baaad Anna’s—a silent witness to hundreds of finished objects, a spot for sharing frustrations and triumphs, a place where artful messiness and beauty come together. Every skein wound, every color chosen, and every stitch knit is a testament to the incredible creativity of our community. It inspired me after meeting with one of our regulars and a deep dive into the color combinations for her Sophie Shawl, only to spend the next day laboring over the table counting and labeling new Malabrigo stock.

The heart of Baaad Anna’s beats a little stronger with every new memory made here, and we’re grateful for every person who’s helped make this table the creative, lively space it is.
