Cheeky Sweater KAL (Knit A ‘Long)
So what’s on YOUR needles? The summer was a blur and the school and KNIT season started off at a gallop so I have to admit I have done very little knitting in the last six months. But that stops now. At the amazing Stephen West presentation at Knit City on Sept 29th I cast on the new Tin Can Knit’s pattern Dog Star and am loving every stitch.
Have you seen Tin Can Knit’s matching pattern Strange Brew that was launched that same weekend? It is a choose-your-own-adventure colourwork sweater! Those crazy kids at TCKs did it again with knit-xplorating something fresh for knitters everywhere. With this pattern you can customize your own colourwork yoke for a DK-weight fair isle sweater… perfect for the West Coast autumn! Check out more on this creative pattern-working on their blog and if it moves you, join their knit-along that starts October 19 and runs for a full 7 weeks, until Monday December 11th!
But being a cheeky-monkey, I just went ahead and cast on my Dog Star as soon as the ink was dry on the pattern. I’m using one of my all-time favorite yarns, Wollmeise DK, and then flirting with a bit of texture by combining this clean-knitting yarn with the wild fuzz of alpaca for the colourwork. So far I am thrilled with how its knitting together. Come join me in this KAL and I’ll donate a little something-something into the TCK prize booty as well! Happy knitting!
