We will have a special guest come and join us for Knit City this year: Sarah Schira of Imagined Landscapes will be visiting our booth during the show and teaching a few classes at the store in the week following, including an introduction to the knitted gnomes that have hit the knitting world like a storm over the past year.
Known largely for her gnome designs, Sarah designs can be found she also loves designing accessories for everyday adventures. She co-hosts the Imagined Landscapes Podcast with her sister, Katie.
Here’s three of Sarah’s special workshops that we are pleased to present:
GNO FUN LIKE GNOME FUN
Knit a little gnome in a three hour workshop and learn all sorts of tricks including 2-colour i-cord, bobble noses, stuffing toys, and more.
REQUIRED SKILLS: Students should be familiar with knitting in the round. Instructions will be given for knitting with DPNs but students who are familiar with magic loop or knitting on 2 circular needles can adapt the pattern to knit as they prefer.

CHOOSING COLOURS
Course description: Learn how to choose yarns so that you love the finished object – from understanding the mood and look you crave to experimenting with colours so that you can mix and match with confidence for single-colour and multi-colour projects. Students will leave with an arsenal of techniques to test colour combinations before they even start a swatch. For knitters and crocheters.
REQUIRED SKILLS: None! Come in fresh and bushy tailed!

DAYTIME REFRESHER: LEARN DPNs (Double Pointed Needles)
Want to know how to knit in the round with DPNs? It won’t always feel like wrestling a hedgehog! We will work on a little coffee sleeve project to learn to feel comfortable using DPNs. An excellent first class if you want to take the evening gnome class with Sarah.
REQUIRED SKILLS: Comfortable with knitting and purling.
